Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide is a powdered mineral that sits on top of the skin, scattering, reflecting, and absorbing UVA & UVB rays. Zinc Oxide is a highly effective active sunscreen ingredient to give broad spectrum protection.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the castor oil plant (Ricinus communis). We use castor oils because of it's high concentration of unsaturated fatty acids. Castor oil has many powerful benefits on the skin and we use it because of it’s natural protection.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has a natural SPF.  Like coconute themselves, coconut oil is rich in essential fats. These essenital fats are thought to keep the skin healthy and rejuvinated.  Coconut oil is often used as a moisturiser for the skin.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is high in fatty acids, which is why it's often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity.

Carnauba Wax

Carnauba wax comes from the leaves of the carnauba palm, a plant that grows in northeastern Brazil. In hot, dry weather, the palm secretes wax to protect its leaves from damage. We use it in our sunscreen for natural skin protection

Simmondsia chinensis oil (jojoba)

Jojoba Oil is known to moisturize, soothe and protect.  We love that it's a light oil brimming with vitamin E.

Who can use Hello Sunshine Facestick?

• Hello Sunshine Facestick is a perfect natural sunscreen for babies and can safely be used from 6+ months to 99 years! 

How much sunscreen should I apply?

• When applying sunscreen, you need at least one teaspoon per limb, one for the front of the body, one for the back and one for the head. A full body application should be at least 35mL or seven teaspoons. 

When and how often should I apply sunscreen?

• We encourage the application of Hello Sunshine Facestick onto dry skin 20 minutes prior to sun exposure and then re-application every 3 hours and at regular intervals, especially after swimming, exercising and towel drying. Is Hello Sunshine Facestick preservative free?

• Absolutely! We don’t use any chemical or synthetic preservatives in hello sunshine… and by that we mean Nothing. Zero. None. Nada. Zilch. Zip.

Does Hello Sunshine Facestick contain parabens?

• Absolutely not. We don’t believe in using parabens within any of our product range. Parabens are possible endocrine disrupters and while they are what gives the sunscreen a smooth glide on finish we believe we have been able to achieve this by using naturally based ingredients like beeswax and fractionated coconut oil.

Does Hello Sunshine Facestick stain clothing?

• It should not stain clothes since it does not contain organic solar absorbers which are renowned for fabric staining. However, this is fabric dependent, and we encourage you to test this for yourself as we cannot offer guarantees about clothes staining.

Is Hello Sunshine Facestick Nano or Non-Nano?

• We have chosen a zinc oxide within our Facestick that is not a nano zinc oxide. However, the Facestick may contain nano particles.
• To explain, all powders contain nano particles in small amounts, every zinc oxide source will contain low concentrations of sub nano particles, this has always been the case.
• The zinc oxide that we use is called micronised, this means that it is not predominantly nano. We have chosen the highest quality zinc oxide that we have been able to source for our Facestick.

Is Hello Sunshine water resistant?

• Yes, but as per instructions needs to be re-applied frequently after swimming.

Is Hello Sunshine TGA tested and approved?

• Yes, it sure is!

Is Hello Sunshine ‘reef friendly’?

• There is some scientific evidence that oxybenzone, a sunscreen active, could be contributing to coral bleaching. We don’t use oxybenzone in any of our products and we don’t use any oxybenzone in Hello Sunshine Facestick.

What is the difference in consistency between the Hello Sunshine Sunscreen and Facestick?

• The Facestick is much thicker in consistency to form the solid stick. This is perfect for easy application to the face. 
• The Sunscreen in the tube is a thinner consistency to squeeze out of the tube and rub easily into the skin. This is perfect for easy application to larger areas of the body.
