Organic Coconut Oil

Like coconuts themselves, coconut oil is rich in essential fats. These fats are thought to keep skin healthy and rejuvenated, both internally and externally. Coconut oil is traditionally used as an emollient to moisturize and nourish the skin. We adore coconut oil and use it in many of our products.

Organic Beeswax

We only use natural organic beeswax in our products. Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin to guard against irritants and lock in moisture.  Unlike ingredients made from petroleum, beeswax doesn’t suffocate the skin and won’t clog the pores. Bees are amazing and are in great danger around the world. Bees are not harmed during this process of the removal of the wax. We adore and respect our bees!

Organic Carnauba Wax

Carnauba wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree (Copernica cerifera) known as the “Tree of Life.”  Carnauba Wax is known for its beautiful hydrating properties as well as natural protection.

Organic Lanolin

Lanolin is a natural and organic substance that is mainly known for its moisturizing effects on the skin. It provides a smooth barrier which protects the skin and is a natural emollient.

Organic Lavender Essential Oil

We are obsessed with organic lavender essential oil. We feature it in our Sleepy Head Balm because of its known benefits. Distilled from the plant Lavandula angustifolia, lavender oil promotes relaxation. Lavender essential oil smells divine and is traditionally used for soothing the nervous system.  Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular and versatile essential oils used in aromatherapy.

Rose Geranium Oil

Rose Geranium has a beautiful, sweet calming scent to soothe and comfort.  We love it in our Sleepy Head Balm as it provides a beautiful relaxing balance to our product.

Organic Sandalwood Oil

Sandalwood was traditionally used to promote mental clarity and is known for it's relaxing and calming properties.

Organic Cedarwood Oil

A beautiful warm woody essential oil designed to soothe and comfort.  The smell of cedarwood is earthy and grounding and we love the balance that it brings to our products.

Wild Crafted Murunga (Kakadu Plum)

This miracle of nature is from the Kimberley's in Western Australia is used traditionally and is a potent, natural wholefood source of Vitamin C and a beautiful emollient designed to soothe the skin. Being a rich source of Vitamin C, kakadu plums form an important ingredient in many balms.  

Magnesium Chloride

Magnesium is an amazing mineral known to help the nervous system function. When we are stressed our magnesium levels lower.  When our nervous system relaxes it's easier to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Bach Flower Remedies are a safe and natural method of healing discovered by Dr. Bach from 1920 – 1930’s in England. They are known to restore the balance between mind and body.

• Sleepy Head Balm can be applied to the soles of feet, behind the knees, temples and on the pulse points. 

How often can I apply Sleepy Head Balm?

• Sleepy Head Balm is so gentle that you can use it as many times as you like, throughout the day and night.

 Can I use Sleepy Head Balm on my newborn baby? 

• Sleepy Head Balm is only suitable for ages 6 months and older due to the essential oil content in the product. It is not recommended to have any essential oil use on babies under this age.

Is Sleepy Head Balm safe for sensitive skin?

• As skin conditions such as eczema vary greatly, we cannot guarantee it will suit your child's skin specifically, but we have received wonderful feedback from many customers who love it as a gentler option.

Is Sleepy Head Balm safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

• Yes, our Sleepy Head Balm is perfectly safe for use by pregnant and breastfeeding Mothers. However, we caution use around the chest/nipple/breast area where a baby is latching due to the risk of ingesting the essential oils in the balm.

Does Sleepy Head Balm contain nuts?

• Our Sleepy Head Balm contains a homeopathic remedy of chestnut. We strongly advise not to use the product on anyone with a severe allergy to nuts.

Is there alcohol in Sleepy Head Balm?

• Sleepy Head Balm is an organic and natural product. We use lanolin alcohol to extend the shelf life and preserve the product.

What if it doesn’t help my child sleep?

• Sleepy Head Balm is a gentle balm designed to encourage relaxation. We unfortunately don’t make any guarantees. It’s impossible to do so as there are so many different reasons why sleep issues affect children and it’s impossible to create a product that works for all children.
