What’s in First Aid Balm?

Active ingredients: Eucalyptus oil 1mg/g, calendula officinalis flower oil infused 10mg/g, arnica flower oil infused 30mg/g, clove bud oil 5mg/g.
Other ingredients: Medium chain triglycerides, beeswax, castor oil, lanolin, lanolin alcohol, carnauba wax, lavender oil.

The good stuff

Organic Beeswax

We only use natural organic beeswax in our products. Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin to guard against irritants and lock in moisture. Unlike ingredients made from petroleum, beeswax doesn’t suffocate the skin and won’t clog the pores. Bees are amazing and are in great danger around the world. Bees are not harmed during this process of the removal of the wax. We adore and respect our bees!

Organic Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus has a strong uplifting scent with a cool and slightly sweet aroma which is both energising and relaxing. We love it for its strong fresh, soothing scent and it makes a powerful contribution to Chesty Rub Balm.

Organic Lanolin

Lanolin is a natural and organic substance that is mainly known for its moisturizing effects on the skin. It provides a smooth barrier which protects the skin and is a natural emollient.

Organic Lavender Essential Oil

We are obsessed with organic lavender essential oil. We feature it in our First Aid Balm because of its known benefits. Distilled from the plant Lavandula angustifolia, lavender oil promotes relaxation. Lavender essential oil smells divine and is traditionally used for soothing the nervous system. Lavender essential oil is one of the most popular and versatile essential oils used in aromatherapy.

Organic Calendula Flower

Calendula oil is a natural oil extracted from marigold flowers (Calendula officinalis). Calendula is traditionally used to soothe and protect. We love the balance that it brings to our products.

Organic Carnauba Wax

Carnauba wax is a vegetable wax obtained from the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree (Copernica cerifera) known as the “Tree of Life.” Carnauba Wax is known for its beautiful hydrating properties as well as natural protection.

How often can I apply Chesty Rub Balm?

Chesty Rub Balm is so gentle that you can use it as many times as you like, throughout the day and night.

Can I use Chesty Rub Balm on my newborn baby?

Chesty Rub Balm is only suitable for ages 6 months and older due to the essential oil content in the product. It is not recommended to have any essential oil use on babies under this age.

I’ve heard that Eucalyptus is not safe for babies and can be toxic?

This is true for some species of Eucalyptus but not for all. Different species of Eucalyptus have different properties. We have selected a species that is safe for babies and we use at levels that are also safe for babies 6 months and over.

Is Chesty Rub Balm safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Yes, our Chesty Rub Balm is perfectly safe to use for pregnant and breastfeeding Mothers. However, we caution use around the chest/nipple/breast area where a baby is latching, due to the essential oils in the balm.

Why do you package in glass?

We package in glass where possible and practical to avoid leaching from plastics into our products.

Can you use First Aid Balm on a child’s face?

Yes, you can absolutely use the First Aid Balm on the child's face, we would just advise to use caution around the more sensitive eye area.

At first I thought First Aid Balm was a bit expensive. After using it though it’s well worth the money. I had stitches in my leg and it was looking infected after stitches came out after using Balm 3 times a day it looks great after 2 days. My young daughter came home from school with a nasty scratch on her hand. I put some First Aid Balm on it and the next it had almost completely disappeared! Amazing result that wasn't expected so soon. It smells and feels wonderful as well and is complimentary to the skin of my little angel. Having kids that are susceptible to mozzie bites, we always have one with us everywhere we go. They can apply it themselves and it works amazingly!

This has become our go.to for cuts, scratches, bites, scuffs etc for the whole family. Hubby even took some to work for a coworker.
It smells nice, goes on sparingly and just works to heal.
One example is - my son reacts to mozzie bites and if he gets them at school etc he can sometimes scratch them badly. We went through a cycle of the bites constantly getting infected. Since using a small dab of the first aid balm.on any scratched bites he hasn't had any become infected or nasty.
It's honestly a great product. Thank you.
