Fake Cakes

FAKE CAKES: I got an email from a wonderful mum today telling me her child went to 2 birthday parties on the weekend where this popular birthday cake from The Cheesecake Shop was served. She didn’t allow her kids to have it and she was made to feel like the ‘worst mother ever’ for this decision.

I think she was extremely brave to go against the norm in a situation like a birthday party and make a different choice for her child.

In our grandmothers era cakes were made from: Flour, Sugar, Cream, Eggs, Butter, Chocolate, Vanilla & Cream. Ingredients that we know and understand and could actually find in our kitchens. How many of these ingredients below do you recognise as real food and do you have in your kitchen? (Could someone please pass me the Propylene Glycol and some E210 – I’m making a cake for kids!!!!) ‪#‎omfg‬

Where did we go sooo off track? These ingredients are horrendous and resemble a chemical science lab. Many of these ingredients are genetically modified and derived from palm oil.
The artificial colours here are the worst of the worst. There are known neurotoxins, chemicals that lead to aggression, behavioural issues & tantrums, hyperactivity, asthma and many of these colours are prohibited in food for infants.

Yet we serve them up in kids birthday cakes and call this a ‘treat’

Feeding kids artificial colours like Benzoic Acid which comes from Petroleum and a huge overload of synthetic, fake colours and preservatives that overload developing nervous and immune systems and cause headaches and learning difficutlies cannot be labeled as a ‘treat’
The cheesecake shop states it is ‘proud of the products it produces’

I can’t possibly imagine why??!
Remember it’s always okay to ‘opt out’ of this chemical shit storm. This ‘food’ is not normal. (Or food)
And it’s okay to be different. ‪#‎fakeoff‬

Here is a big thumbs up to all the mums and dads who go against the crowd in regards to artificial fake food and drinks even when it’s tough to do so. Bravo! Alisa xx
